I dig the pose a lot man. I'm not even going to comment on your rendering ability, or anatomy, those are both just stellar. I would say the piece seems a little monotone to me though. I dig the single color scheme, that's really hard to pull off and you did well, but maybe just a little more white highlights and shadows would make it contrast a little better. Just a thought.

I decided it's impossible to not sound a little pretentious while commenting on other people's art, so now I just make sure I'm at least constructive too.

You are absolutely right. This was done in the beginning of Asa's class, the second week, IN class since I didn't have an action pose to turn in (bad time management). It wasn't until the end of the quarter, after Asa beat into my head light sourcing and shadows, as well as from Grady, that something clicked in my brain and I was like "ohhhhh."

Now I look at some of my older stuff and shudder. I also have a keener eye now when shadows and light are off in other's work.

this one kind of reminds me of raziel from soul reaver. just the face. probably because of the mask heh i think it would look better if you drew the leg that's kicking down a little bit longer, just so it shows that it's really stretching out. other than that, /clap. good stuff

I've often wondered whether older works should or shouldn't be "fixed." On one hand, it shows the history of an artist's evolution. On the other hand, learning from patching your own work lends to more experience. What do you think?

i think it's always good to fix past projects, if time allows. then it'll allow one to know that they CAN do better. i've redone some of my stuff several times. sometimes it comes out better, sometimes worse haha also one can apply new techniques to older pieces to make it look more kick ass. yoosshhh! i may even redo some of my older stuff haha or maybe just work on saint george stuff.. iuno haha

That's a good point.

Ugh, Saint George stuff. Only 2 more weeks until the quarter starts back up... I gotta get crackin.
